Rangers handed double boost as ‘serious’ Celtic news emerges in last 24 hours.
The fortunes of Scottish giants Rangers and Celtic have been intertwined for quite some time, and that scenario won’t change anytime soon.
The rivals have constantly enjoyed a fierce game of cat and mouse in Scottish football, with the Bhoys winning that game lately.
But the Gers have now been handed a double boost in that respect amid the news that Celtic have suspended the Green Brigade supporters group from home matches.
That will undoubtedly play into the favour of Rangers, who travel to Celtic Park next month to take on their fierce rivals in the Scottish Premiership.
The absence of the most boisterous Celtic supporters should ease the pressure on the Rangers players, if indeed the ban is still intact come 30 December.
For now, however, Philippe Clement’s side have the inadvertent boost of the Bhoys having to play their home matches without their passionate group of fans.
That will undoubtedly have an impact on the men in green and white, who have been so used to hearing the constant noise of their ultras over the years.
Clement will definitely be focusing on the results of his own team, but he will warmly welcome a slip-up from Brendan Rodgers’s side, who have a five-point lead at the top of the table.
The Bhoys are in pole position with 26 points from their 10 matches so far, with the Gers sitting in second on 21 points.
In other Rangers news, the Gers have scouted an international midfielder, with a January transfer on the cards for the player.
